Kay B. Day, editor and columnist

I’ve provided articles, copy and content to places like The Christian Science Monitor, The Writer, Coastal Homes, The Florida Times Union, United Press International, Sky News, Human Events and many others. I also freelanced a regular column for The Writer at the magazine Web site (“Web Savvy”). I one-up articles at many different places.

I’ve written one nonfiction book, Killing Earl. It’s a memoir about a mystery illness our younger daughter experienced. I’ve contributed to anthologies featuring poetry and nonfiction.

I edited an award-winning pharmacy magazine as a freelancer for  more than 10 years, worked on a contract basis for a natural resources agency on projects related to the Bald Eagle, the Peregrine Falcon and special natural areas, and I've provided content to criminal justice organizations as well as small businesses. I also served as writer-in-residence working on a community information project for a major teaching hospital.

My poetry is published in journals like the magazine published by Florida Council of Teachers of English and on Web sites and in magazines like Foliate Oak, Pif, ByLine and Fairfield Review. It’s included in anthologies like Letters to the World and in text materials created by an educational publisher. I’ve done poems on TV and on public radio. An exciting moment for me was reading at the U.S. Library of Congress for Florida Poets Arrive. My collection A Poetry Break won several awards and it was selected by a bookseller’s organization as a nominee for poetry book of the year.

I was honored to serve as senior media analyst for The Congressional Medal of Honor Society Convention held in Charleston, SC, in 2010.

Though The US Report is only a year old, our content is picked up by major media via our agreement with Newstex.

If you really want to know more, or if you need a writer or speaker for your group, email me by using the form on this website [link at the top of the page].

I get mountains of email from readers, and I really do try to answer them all. Sometimes I fail, so don’t take it personally. I always answer emails from editors and potential clients. I am a capitalist.

If you’re an aspiring writer, your best resource is the magazine The Writer. I’ve already disclosed I’m published there and I do the column online. But I read that magazine long before I was polished enough to do either. It’s the very best writing resource you’ll find in my opinion. It's also the oldest continually published trade magazine for writers in the US.

My professional memberships include The American Society of Journalists and Authors and The Authors Guild.

Louis William Rose, contributor to The US Report

Born in the city he calls the capital of the world, New York, Louis William Rose received an education that could only be obtained in that metropolis’ once great public school system. When asked what he does, he says that he is a poet, political philosopher, writer, and parliamentarian. After his election to Christianity in ‘75, Rose utilized his peculiar musical talents for the Lord, performing as a baritone soloist for most of the major denominations.

Rose resides in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife Jamy, who is a Florida Master Naturalist at Tree Hill Nature Center. He has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of North Florida, graduating summa cum laude in 2004. Now pursuing a master’s degree in Philosophy and Ethics, he is involved in politics, widely as a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians, and more specifically as Chairman of the Rules Committee for the Duval County Republican Party.

Rose is a member of the Jacksonville Parliamentarians. The organization meets monthly for the purpose of teaching Robert’s Rules of Order to those individuals who wish to learn how to run meetings effectively, or to participate more actively in deliberative assemblies.

Read more of Rose's work at his website Louis Rose.
